She experienced starring roles in the 1990s CBC series Black Harbour, and a films Bye Bye Blues, Marion Bridge and South of Wawa. She besides got the supporting role in the 1992 film Bob Roberts, as Dolores Perrigrew.

As the singer, Jenkins has primarily been a backing vocalizer for Jane Siberry, Parachute Club and Damhnait Doyle. She has as well recorded tracks for the total of American advantage & compilation albums, & participated in the Count Your Blessings concert with Siberry, Holly Cole, Mary Margaret O'Hara and Victoria Williams.
